search word in dictionary by selecting?

Is it possible to look up a word in the dictionary when reading an ebook on the e-ink side by selecting it instead of having to type it in?

Yes. Use the stylus and "highlight" the word or phrase and press the magnifying glass on the e-ink side. The Search box will pop up on the LCD side with the word in it. You can then choose to search for the word or phrase in the book or document, Google, Wikipedia, or the Dictionary.
