Unable to copy the icudt36l.dat file?

I just tried to make a new backup of my Cybooks' flash, and when trying to copy the icudt36l.dat file my Windows box claimed that the directory I was copying *to* was write-protected (which of course it wasn't).

Just to be sure, I ran a file check on both my Cybooks' flash and the destination drive and tried again. Same result.

Trying under Linux gave me an I/O error when reading the file, which made more sense.

It looks like the new firmware opens that file for read & write, where the older firmware opened it only for read, making backing up the file impossible :-(

Could someone confirm (or not)?

No problems copying the file to my desktop -- on version 538 or 685.
