Uhhh My new SmartQ V7
On tuesday i was in my cubicle at the bank, working like usual, when my phone ringed, it was my Girlfriend -soon to be wife - at the other end of the line, the conversation went like usual:
-Hi honey, hows your day? - nahhh.. boring like usual,.... -then i kept going on how boring my day was and how jealous i was of her being on vacations when she said the magic words... - ouh, a package arrived today, from singapore... My head almost exploded, finally my V7 arrived!! i couldn't wait to get home and put my hands on my new toy. Finaly at home i opened the package, and there it was, white, big, and ready for me to use it as i please. i couldnt be more wrong for starters my chinese is a little rusty so winCe was out of the picture. ubuntu on the other hand, was way more language friendly, so i started exploring, video and subtitle playback, awesome, photo viewing, awesome, internet surfing... complete failure, the device was connected to my network, but didn't surf the net. Lets check android i said... another failure, th OS crashed on startup, so i got stucked with a device with three OS's that it's suposedly conceived to surf the net but unable to surf it?? i was reeeeaally disapointed, until i found and installed the new android and ubuntu firmwares Epic win!! finally i was able to surf the net with the three OS's (yes i was able after much much snooping around to get wifi on WinCE) So far the device is awesome, i am very happy with the little bugger, all the disapointments vanished without a trace Now im loading my comics music and videos =D ahhh best christmas gift ever!! (it took almost a month and a half to arrive T_T) Last edited by crlock; 01-14-2010 at 09:59 AM. |

@crlock - Glad you got over that initial hump! I'm not attempting to poach you from here as I reckon this is the best site for info and advice on using your device as an ereader, but (you knew there would be a but ) for more general/technical help/advice I would recommend a visit to http://www.smartqmid.com/phpBB3/index.php
