Mindblowing. The one that even now makes me squirm is the difference between a million and a billion - which I don't think most of us can grasp - it take just over 11 days for a million seconds to pass, but it takes more than 33 years for a billion seconds to pass.

There was a thread, or we posted some pictures in a thread about the sheer size of stars in comparison to the size of the Earth: here's a pic from Wikipedia. It's too big to post in image tags and downsizing it just hurts the mind-boggling factor

My internet connection is too slow but looks interesting if I had taken the time to load it.
P.S 512kbs is the fastest (and most over priced at $50 per month) internet around here, but Telus is stringing some fiber-optic cables, so I hope it's the internet |
