So, I installed JuneReader a couple of days ago on my rooted T1 and initially it was excellent. However, for some reason, the books on the homescreen remain the last ones added, and regularly the time/clock dissapears, causing me to run EbookReader.apk again.
Is this just me, is there someway to overcome these issues, or is it a matter of unrooting it, and then just installing JuneReader? Thanks |

Right, unrooted the T1 and had another go at June.
Installed without a hitch, and time is back in the bottom right hand corner, however, the homescreen still shows the last added books, rather than the last read. Suggestions on getting this fixed are much appreciated |

There is another way to get recently read books on the homescreen. It is detailed in this post. It involves manually editing the books.db database (one time only) with a bit of SQL. If you are familiar with SQL, reading post #1 may be enough. If you're not, keep reading, there are other posts which detail how to apply the change on Windows, OSX and Linux. |

just thought i would let you know i have been messing with the clock and if you change the clock in the settings from 24 hour to 12 hour via \settings\date and time settings\ uncheck 24-hour format you will get a 12 hour clock. enjoy edit: by 12 hour clock i mean when you are reading a book in the lower corner as well as the normal clock. Hello.
First of all, thank you all for the great help offered here. And second of all, thanks to Morkl for the awesome modified reader. It is such a help to me! One thing I experience all the time I reboot my reader is that the modified reader app just goes back to normal. Only when I reinstall the APK File again, it will be up and running again. Any suggestions on how to fix that? Also another side-question: When putting packages on the reader with the Reboot & Update process it just will not work. Tried to install Apps2SD like 5 times that way, and it's still not working. What I did was, switching off the reader, Holding down Home and Menu and then the Power button to switch it on. Still holding on to home and menu until the loading bar appears. Do I have to hold it down all the way through? I just can't figure out what exactly I did do different, the last time the root package installed that way. Thanks for the help. Moon |

Do you mean resetting the whole reader to stock firmware and starting modifying it all over again?
Could it also be a permission problem? (That's what I thought of) |

replacing default reader font
Reading the instructions to install the modified reader without rooting the PRS-T1, I have found:
Quote:
Code:
<fonts> <font name="Amasis" regular="AmasisMTW1G.otf" italic="AmasisMTW1G-Italic.otf" bold="AmasisMTW1G-Bold.otf" bolditalic="AmasisMTW1G-BoldItalic.otf" /> <font name="Palatino Nova" regular="PalatinoNovaW1G-Regular.otf" italic="PalatinoNovaW1G-Italic.otf" bold="PalatinoNovaW1G-Bold.otf" bolditalic="PalatinoNovaW1G-BoldItalic.otf" /> <font name="Really No 2" regular="ReallyNo2LTW1G-Regular.otf" italic="ReallyNo2LTW1G-Italic.otf" bold="ReallyNo2LTW1G-Bold.otf" bolditalic="ReallyNo2LTW1G-BoldItalic.otf" /> <font name="Frutiger" regular="FrutigerNeueLTW1G-Regular.otf" italic="FrutigerNeueLTW1G-Italic.otf" bold="FrutigerNeueLTW1G-Bold.otf" bolditalic="FrutigerNeueLTW1G-BoldItalic.otf" /> <font name="Univers Next" regular="UniversNextW1G-Regular.otf" italic="UniversNextW1G-Italic.otf" bold="UniversNextW1G-Bold.otf" bolditalic="UniversNextW1G-BoldItalic.otf" /> <font name="Quirkus" path="../../mnt/sdcard/reader/fonts/" regular="Quirkus.ttf" italic="Quirkus-I.ttf" bold="Quirkus-B.ttf" bolditalic="Quirkus-BI.ttf" /> </fonts> But my question is: how can I change the default font? This is the only thing I want to do, to install FreeSerif (FreeSans and FreeMono when possible) and be able to use it as the default font. So I'd like to know first, before installing anything on the PRS-T1 (it isn't mine and I'd like to avoid anything, if the default font cannot be changed). Many thanks for your help. |
