Since this is now a promotion, the only place this can be promoted is in.....The Self-Promotion forum.

Please take the time now to become familiar with our Posting Guidelines for self-promotion, which is located as a sticky in this forum.

Been meaning for a while to congeal these thoughts into a single post. Seems like an appropriate time of year for it.

Hey guys!

First of all - awesome that you have this thread. It is, for obvious reasons, usually really hard to get to promote your own stuff in serious forums. Hope you will give this shameless plug a chance!

I'm a part of a small startup (completely bootstrapped) called Scripler and for the past few years we have been working hard to create a tool for writing, editing and publishing ebooks. One that is not just bad conversions with zero control - but that actually lets you revise and republish. In an easy-to-access way. We released our alpha a few weeks ago, and that means you can try out our editor for absolutely free. No strings, no nothing.

www.scripler.com

Right now Scripler lets you import from word (or you can just write in the editor), design your text, add meta data, and helps you generate all the required standard ebook stuff (cover, title page, ToC, and colophon). Down the road we'll add more formats but for the time being your finished ebook will be in ePub.

If you have any problems (or encounter bugs) we've set up support at www.talk.scripler.com.

Hope you like it!
All the best
Sofie Ottsen

BTW - if you have any suggestions to other forums or places where people might want to try out Scripler I'm all ears.

The cover art has arrived for my upcoming novel Dark Hours: http://sidneywilliams.blogspot.com/2...-thriller.html

The novel follows a brilliant but overzealous student journalist whose pursuit of an interview with a fugitive killer leads her into a maze of traps and puzzles that forces her to confront secrets she's tried to leave behind.

A PC reading software for you

I have developed eBook reader for Windows (also available on Linux) it is close to maturing but still I call it Beta. In a brief this reader is fast, portable, lightweight (3MB), and offer very good html rendering features . It supports EPUB, HTML and FictionBook format, last format has sometime performance issues. I am sure this software will be useful to those who still read on PC.

Download it from
https://apps.techfied.com/downloads/...er_Release.zip

Any suggestion/feedback greatly welcomed.
Thanks

I run a website which offers a small personal collection of fantasy, adventure and travel literature. Among the authors are Homer, Herodotus, Lady Mary Wortley Montagu, Mary Kingsley, Henry Rider Haggard and Robert E. Howard, and of the 16 volumes of Richard Burton's Thousand Nights And A Night so far there are 11. Most of the texts are easily available elsewhere, but probably not as carefully proofread and edited -- the books on my website are not copies of printed books, but editions in their own rights. Plain text files are free, for access to the PDF files -- DRM-free, carefully typeset, intended for 8" screens or larger -- I ask for a one-time donation (or a link to my website, or a good reason why you cannot offer either).

Questions, suggestions, requests, complaints etc. are welcome, thank you!
