Wowio is offering 160 romance novels and 145 gay and lesbian novels for free download in PDF format. There is a limit of one book in each category, but during a similar offer last month, I was able to download considerably more.

Looks like their social DRM adds ~3.5mb to the stated filesize. As far as I can tell, there's no limit; a person should be able to download all 160/145 (are those separate, or folded into each other?) ebooks if they wanted to.

I don't think so; I've been registered with Wowio for several years and while my dealings with them have been limited to downloading a few books, I've never suffered any ill effects from the transactions. Looking at the registration procedure, it appears that they don't ask for credit card information or even an address. To give you an idea of what Wowio's offering, here are a few books at random:

I realized people might be more interested in the nonfiction books. There's only a handful of them, and it's hard to find them mixed in with the rest. (Also, I wanted a list of them so I decided it wouldn't be much more effort to list them.)
