Duplicate Detection

I see that there have been previous questions on duplicate detection and I have read through those threads.

My problem is that I have a 6000+ book library. I have quite a few duplicate books (duplicate by title and perhaps author). This is caused by getting the same book from different sources. I'd like to have a list of all of the duplicates, at the most obvious level, in my Calibre library so I could easily go through them, delete some of them, merge others, etc.

Calibre allows you to look for the duplicate of a *specific* book that you have selected. There is not a global function of "display books that appear to be duplicates" that I can find.

Can someone suggest a means of doing this task? Otherwise, I'm down to sorting my books by title and scrolling through the entire library looking for double or triple entries, which is quite tedious.

Those threads have my duplicate detection SQL code in them.

Correct.

It's mostly in those threads. The code produces an external list of duplicates. It doesn't produce it inside Calibre. You'll see a discussion of why in the threads. I can post some improved versions that will generate search queries. You then have to paste the query into the search bar for the search to do anything. I've thought a bit about how this might be done, but haven't written anything in final yet. I may never do it.
