Hello MobileRead folks,

I am selling my Entourage Pocket Edge ("PE"), in excellent used condition, for $50 + $12 for shipping via USPS priority mail, insured. Payment by PayPal only; shipping to USA only.



I bought it new last June (2011), used it for about three weeks, and then stored it away.
(I had also bought the full-size edge around this time, and found that the "full size" version was too heavy for my taste, whereas the pocket edge was too small...)



I updated the OS to Froyo, using all the helpful suggestions on the Edge Forum here. (Thank you!)

I am really hoping to sell it to someone who understands the quirks and limitations of the PE. These devices do not do well with Angry Birds (or most other games...); they require workarounds to get Android market; they have been completely abandoned by the manufacturer (out of business). On the other hand, they are also uniquely useful - if you have a need for a small e-reader (that can read various formats) connected to an older Android tablet. And, the eDGe Forum here on MobileRead is _amazing_, and - in my opinion - is the main reason why this device remains useful.

(as an aside, I found that many things on the edge actually worked quite well, for example the the e-mail clients. I had the edge connected to both my personal email, and to my corporate exchange server, without any problems)



If you "are not sure" (whether you need it, or what you would do with it, or what it does/does not do), then the Pocket eDGe is NOT for you... Please, read the forum entries (as many as possible) to get the sense of the capabilities and limitations of this device.


Condition: flawless screens (had screen protectors on them, now removed); minimal wear to back and edges (if any). Touchscreen, active digitizer, USB port, mini-USB port, microSD card slot, headphone port, camera, WiFi and Bluetooth all work as intended. I had used a USB thumbdrive, headphones, a USB keyboard, a bluetooth GPS (with some workarounds - you need a program to act as "driver"), and a microSD card for storage, and they all worked fine.
The eDGe "sleeps" and "wakes up" fine (this is sometimes a problem); if it wakes up to white (tablet) screen when one of the tablet buttons is pressed - which has happened -, then either a quick slide of the power button or another press of one of the tablet buttons a few moments later will bring the tablet screen back to life, without a restart/reset or any other "measures". In other words, I have never experienced the "WSOD" problem that has been described in the forums.

I will include the eDGe in its original box, "instruction sheet," charger, and mini-USB cable. I will also include a Patagonia case that fits the eDGe perfectly (but will hold only the device, not the charger).


I have reset the eDGe. You might need to run the digitizer and/or touchscreen calibration (settings --> display settings).


The price is $50 + $12 for shipping (for a total of $62) payable by PayPal only. I will ship the Pocket eDGe insured, via USPS priority mail, to USA only.
I will accept a return only if I have failed to accurately describe the condition of the Pocket eDGe. If the Pocket eDGe is not as I described it above, you may return it within five days of delivery and I will refund the $50 provided that the eDGE is returned to me in the original condition as described (i.e, you will pay shipping both ways). (However: no returns because you "don't like the size," or "can't play Angry Birds," or have discovered any of the (numerous) limitations of these devices...)
