Harry Potter books now in libraries....
Ok, it's only a few so far and it's to either hold for checkout or you can pre-order to purchase (delivery now promised for April 30). Thought those of you who do borrow might want to start checking your libraries and getting on the waiting lists before they hit triple digits.
Of the libraries I belong to, I see all seven as ebooks or audiobooks at FLP. Any others, yet? |

Harry Potter as ebooks? You must be mistaken - they're not due before 2025

Audiobooks are there also, but I didn't get on the list for those. If she's sticking with Overdrive for those too, that will cut Audible (Amazon) out for those, well. There is still a lot of question as to whether or not Amazon will get the ebooks (since if Overdrive gets the exclusive for sales, they likely won't work on Kindle, unless they are DRM-free (which one rumor has claimed will happen).

I'm not getting on the list, but nice to have any kind of (legal) ebook around anyway, finally.

I'm number 6 on the Arlington County VA hold list for The Sorcerors Stone...
As of two days ago it was e-Pub only - also what I've seen on the amazon forums. There were quite a few people reporting they could pre-order from their libraries. |

HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!!
OMG!!!!!!!!
If they're available for libraries then we'll be able to *gasp* buy them!!! HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!!! The Toronto Public Library has 15 copies of the ebooks & 6 of the audiobooks. The Burlington Library has 2 copies of the ebooks & 1 of the audiobooks. Mississauga library doesn't have any of them as yet. |

Interesting to see the different Overdrive interfaces - my Arlington, VA site doesn't have purchasing, but when I recently started looking at the DC Public Library site, was surprised to see a Purchase button on the book page. Maybe/hopefully the library sees part of the cut. Although I have to say I really don't like the idea - but I know how much libraries are hurting.

Nashville has them, three copies of each. Apparently word hasn't gotten out yet because the holds aren't used up yet - only one or two used on each so far.

I clicked it just to see what happened - nothing but endless spinning of a wheel (for the mouse pointer). No clue what the cost will be on the books or MP3's (thought clicking on buy might get me the info).

Too bad that's across the state, I'd move my holds there. Hopefully the local library will get them and I'll notice before the lists get too long. If not, I am at least in line at the FLP.
