Seems like this is the natural consequence of how tight-lipped Apple is about their development pipeline. Hard to get excited about a near-future product when we know nothing about it. Yet if the product is desirable enough all will be forgiven shortly after launch.

Actually, I think Apple does pretty good getting people excited about their coming products. There is a lot of suspense.

mac-rumour and the like keep the faithful apprised somewhat and excited.

On the other hand MS has long got people excited so as to keep them from adopting something else and then didn't deliver. "Vaporware."

Samsung is just as hard to read as Apple. "Anyone know when the new Galaxy Players are coming?"

I can top that. In the mid-2000s, Chinese counterfeiters set up a fake Chinese branch of the NEC corporation, complete with paperwork, offices and marketing materials.

Apple's sales emporiums are second to none, even fancy Sports Cars.

Glass houses do have some intrinsic weaknesses though. Great scrutiny is hard to live under.

The UAE definitely gives them a run for the title, despite the disparity in geographical area and population.
