His advice of "if you don't think you'll use it, don't buy it" is not only too obvious for words, but applies to any purchase. I see nothing that is specific to ereaders. It must have been a slow news day, or he couldn't think up a better topic before his deadline.

The author, David Carnoy, has written a number of frankly silly pieces in the year I have been following e-readers. Some people like to run around stirring things up or creating false controversies like the author of a New York Times pieces concerned with the "stigma" of being seen reading in public alone. Whatever, as some kids say.
