And where else can you get the privacy or uninterrupted time you need to talk on the phone when you have children than the bathroom... with a functioning lock (to be more specific)?!!! |

and I know about the privacy issues... I used to be followed into the bathroom by the 2 kids that were my own, occasionally a variety of neighborhood kids, and anywhere from 3 to 8 Newfies. and it was a SMALL bathroom! |

Almost every male I know takes reading material with them to the bathroom. Usually a newspaper or magazine. Since this is a reader forum, I thought I'ed find out if anyone read books in there and if any women did also, since they spend the longest amount of time in bathrooms.

I kinda meant when you are using the bathroom as it was intended to be used, not "I'm putting on my face" projects. Personally, I think you ladies need an entirely separate room for that. Sorry to hear about your "tub in a box" problem. They are quite easy to install, if the prep work is done properly.

So, you think that women spend more time sitting on the porcelain throne than men do? I beg to differ. What was this thread about again? |

Well actually, he is right (Oh how that hurts to say). But unless you are able to do #1s standing you are spending more time sitting on the porcelain.

But then, maybe it's not a question of gender, but of age. |

And not to get into too much detail, but MOTH is usually fast. I found out the hard way why when I had to go after him - I was even faster out of there |

I was just looking at the poll results from the June 2009 "Do you read in the bathroom?" thread.
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48315 I'm definitely in the minority. So this discussion is for those who voted "Yes I do and I think it is normal." If we were talking about reading in the tub, that might be an altogether different matter, but without the functioning whirlpool, I'll never know if it's a place I would enjoy reading. I look forward to the opportunity some day! If I were into reading in the bathroom, it would probably be the same kind of stuff I like reading now, which would be mostly inspirational and some sci-fi for fun! How's that for a combination! First off, let me say that I grew up in a house with three women. The only extended amount of time I got to spend in there was when I was doing repairs. Secondly, all the ads about regularity and constipation I see are aimed solely at women. I just asked if you all read in there.
