I'm hoping it will be "we'll do it ourselves" - but in a rational, sensible manner; not by committing more bloodshed in the name of whatever. Unfortunately the cynical part of me doesn't think that's a realistic hope.

(I am ignoring it by picturing what would happen if you crossed kittens with tribbles... actually, that may be the answer - get people to voluntarily have their heads explode from too much cuteness )

There is talk of doing some weather manipulating to counteract global warming. Will we ever learn?

Robert Heinlein has a story also....."Year of the Jackpot"

Short story, great concept. Well worth looking up.
