Hm, yes, I think so . I've never heard of mpub, I will check what the exact differences are.

I can't see any advantages using mpub instead of epub and don't think that there are technical reasons why it was created. For me it seems to be a proprietary epub variant which is probably created to bind people to their eco system. I don't plan to support this.
