Disappearing posts in "Caution for the Curious"?
Last night, I responded to two posts in the Caution for the Curious thread in Deals, Freebies and Resources. But this morning, one of the posts was gone, as well as my multiquoted response to both posts.

I thought the mods must have deleted them, but isn't there usually a post by a mod saying that posts have been deleted and why, as well as a PM sent to the posters? And even if the poster decided to delete the post, that shouldn't have affected my response, right? I thought the post might have been deleted because it mentioned the darknet, but IIRC it wasn't recommending going that route. And I wish I could have my response back as well because I mentioned a legitimate and useful link in it.

Unless I'm hallucinating the whole thing and hallucinating posts, as well as responses to posts.

Just a guess, but could the post have been spam? If the post was determined to be spam it could have been deleted and quite possibly your response to it without any fanfare.

It didn't have links, though.mThe other post told the original poster he probably would't find the sort of books he was looking for on legit sites. I wondered if it was deleted for mentioning the darknet, but usually the mods leave an explanation when they do that. I've received PMs if my post responding to a deleted post had to be deleted, as well.

Who knows? Last week, an entire thread in the same forum accidentally went MIA for a little while, because a spam post was removed.
