feedburner

i see a lot of people making recipees for different sites...why not use feedburner and subscribe to all the different sites rss feeds then just have one recipee for your feedburner since it will all be put into one type of format

Because, AFAIK, feedburner doesn't put them all into one type of format. The feeds are standardized, but the articles the feeds link to aren't, and it's the linked articles that have the bulk of the content. You can look at the Google Reader and InstaPaper recipes for something similar to what you are suggesting, but nothing beats a good dedicated recipe for each site.
