Application / update / bluescreen

Hi,

I have installed the sony software that came on the CD then it's ask if I want to update the soft, so I did this...

While using this apps, I tried to select C:/... to upload a book and I got message C is not available....

I close the application and restart my computer then I got blue screen!

So after that I have completely uninstall this application.
I'm transfering my book directly to my SD card.

I'm wonderind If I'm the only one who got this problem...and should I reinstall the application without updating it or only transfer my book directly to my SD card?

I'm using a stable Windows XP.
