^We have a winner. After the worst winter for snow and the coldest Spring in 113 years, I can see a smidgeon of grass in the backyard.

I heard two woodpeckers doing the dueling banjos thing this morning. And I saw a flower at my mom's house. They say 10 today, 12 tomorrow, 21 on Monday. There's already three or four towns that have declared states of emergency due to flooding and it's only going to get worse over the next couple of weeks.

That of course is the drawback to sudden highs. We got lucky in that we had relatively slow melts (1 day of flooding) and no rain until the snow was gone and most of the frost was out of the ground.

Areas farther north have not been so lucky in recent weeks.

Most people here are going to have a bit of water in the basement. I moved most of my snow away from the house so things have been good so far. It's weird that all the streets are clear, but there are still three-four-five foot piles of snow in the yards.
