Using the kindle to send/receive text messages (launchpad browser shortcut)
This is just a launchpad shortcut to open your browser and return to your last open book (using the top book in your most recent list!). Really simple, and makes texting with google voice easy (the mobile page looks great on the kindle, and works perfectly). You can also use this to go to any other web page you might want, and the shortcut should open to whatever the last page you had opened was. The shortcuts are Shift B to open the browser and Shift Z to open your last book. IF you don't know how to install it, you just need to copy the .ini file over to your launchpad folder on your kindle.
There is one small problem I've been unable to solve: refreshing the page when the browser opens. The kindle can't get push notifications, so you have to manually refresh the page to check for new messages. That gets old after a while, but I can't find a way to refresh the browser automatically...any ideas? |
