Unhappy Library takes 5 minutes to open the reader!

Hello everyone

I have a PRS-505 and use Windows XP SP3.
I was copying a word document to the reader. It was not rtf. It was quite large with some graphics. It was taking forever, so I went to the status menu and cancelled. It did not cancel and after 10 minutes I had to restart my computer. Now when I connect the reader to the computer, the library initially shows an hourglass and then nothing for about 5 minutes. During that 5 minutes if I try to use the library I get "library not responding". Finally after the 5 minutes, I can access the reader from the library.

When I restarted the computer, while it was trying to cancel the copy of a word document, did something happen to the reader software?

I restored the Sony folder in Program files from a backup but the problem still exists.

Someone here may have already had this problem, but I couldn't find it.
Should I reformat the internal memory of the reader?
Any suggestions?

Smile The problem is solved!

I went to ebook by way of Windows Explorer and found a file with the same name as the one that originally caused the problem. I couldn't see it within the reader or the library. When I tried to open it with Windows, I couldn't because it was corrupted. So I deleted it and the problem was solved. I think that each time I connected the reader to the computer the library was trying to read the corrupted file and after 5 minutes just gave up.

Thanks to all who read the original post and were thinking of a solution.
