I suppose you have some kind of WLan, don't you?

Well, the easiest way is to use the Stanza desktop application, open an eBook with that application and then then open Stanza on your iThingie and tap on shared books. The book opened in Stanza will show up and you can download it from there. The same is possible with Calibre, but all the books available in Calibre are downloadable over the shared books.
