Formatting?
HI
I traded my PRS-500 in for a PRS-505 today and love it, My question is I downloaded the bible and a series of 4 books today from this site for the first time. I downloaded to a folder I created and then transferred to an SD card. When I opened the book in the reader it took a very long time formatting and if I changed the size same thing. Is there a different way to do this and not spend so much time on the formatting? And once It formats to a font size does that only happen once Thank you for your time Gary |

Do you have the Sony Library software installed? If you drag the book to either the Reader or your inserted SD card, it will format the book during the transfer.
If you put it on the SD card, then insert the card to Reader, it should already know it's formatted. One word of...warning?...in my experience, about every other time I remove the card from the Reader and re-insert it, the books' formatting is no longer kept in memory. Books that read fine before will need to be formatted by the Reader again when I first open them. I don't know why it "forgets" sometimes, but it does. |

Hi
Thank you for the reply, Yes I have the sony library installed, so if I understand correctly putting the book in the library first then transferring it to the reader or card will speed up the formatting process, Is this correct? EDIT Did what you said and it worked perfect THANK YOU Gary Last edited by Blusaber; 10-04-2008 at 09:09 PM. |

To answer your other question, the formatting delay will only happen the first time you select a particular font size.

Thank you Harry
It was one of your Haggard anthologies I had down loaded that took so long to format. I down loaded a second one to run thru the library first and was amazed at the time savings. Thank you for your efforts on providing these I'm looking forward to the read Gary |
