Are there any Android Ereading software with TTF?
I have found out that the best font for proof reading (which I use my reader 75 % for) is the true type font DPCustomMono2. Science seems to agree because they have found in a new study that regular fonts on eReaders are too easy on the eyes, which means that errors aren't as easily spotted.
Are there any Android reading software that can use this font? I am using Cool Reader right now, and I have the original reader for the Nook Color I'm using (hopefully I'll be on a Notion Ink Adam in a couple of weeks, but we'll see if there are any other delays...). |

Wow, that was fast! Thanks! So I guess I'll have to find out how to install TTFs on Android. Is there an easier way, or do I have to mount the file system RW and use Root Explorer or similar?

Never mind. I did the song and dance with Terminal Emulator, Root Explorer and ES File Explorer (I use the ES to copy the file and the two others to allow copying). In Cool Reader I didn't have any new fonts to choose between. But FBreader for Android (the J is for Java, I found out) could read fonts from a directory on the SD card, and I'm up and running! Thanks for the tip!

Thanks, I'll try that. I'll see if I like cool or FB best.

I didn't think Spain had any money left? Sorry, couldn't resist that one. The PIGS chrisis has been very much at the forefront of the news here. Norwegians voted no to join the EU 16 years ago, and I was very mad. Strangely enough I'm a bit glad now, or we'd be in the same bind as Germany. Of course it's ironic since the reason Norwegians voted yes was because they all said that EU would grow into an unstoppable United Nations of Europe and crush everybody else under them. I thought Europe really needed the boost because I knew China would emerge within a few decades. It turns out that I was right and they were wrong, but the results of our arguments were actually backwards. So if we had joined that would have been a lot more solidaric with the rest of Europe.
OK, back to the regular programming: I like Coll Reader a lot myself. I have asked the Creator in another thread about a problem with italics, and then we'll see if that can be sorted out. |
