Various: Thrilling Detective Sampler 6. V1. 20 Mar 2012
Thrilling Detective was the first of Ned Pines's long line of pulp magazines, starting in 1931 and running for an amazing 213 issues before folding in Summer 1953. A British reprint edition ran for at least 88 issues between 1939 and 1954. There was also a Canadian reprint edition during the same period.
THE MAN WITHOUT A HEAD—D. L. CHAMPION Shelton Spooner led a life of luxury as a hotel detective until mystery stalked the corridors of the Verdant and he got the one thing he didn’t want, a nice juicy case of murder. Sue As In Suicide—C. S. Montanye Len Royal learns a brunette’s boudoir can be a murder room! Blind Spot—Norman A. Daniels There, in that loot-filled cave, Shannon gets the evidence he needs—but will he live long enough to make use of it? Murder Hunch—John Benton Detective Ed Corey had an idea, and played it for all it was worth! The Ice Man Came—William Hopson Something was off key on the carny, and murder added a sour note.
