Free (ended) The Devil's Pitchfork (Derek Stillwater - #1) - Mark Terry [Thriller]

-Previously Published by Midnight Ink in 2006

Quote:
Book Description:
Series: The Derek Stillwater Novels (Book 1)
What would happen if terrorists got their hands on a virus - a terrifying mix of Ebola, hepatitis and bubonic plague - with the potential to wipe out humanity? This is the crisis that Derek Stillwater faces as troubleshooter for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. A specialist in biological and chemical weapons, he's in a breathtaking race to find the terrorist thieves and destroy Chimera M13. There's little evidence, except for the recording of a familiar voice that reminds him of an army buddy who's dead. Questioning his sanity and failing to keep his panic attacks at bay, Stillwater has no choice but to follow his instincts while scientists work on a vaccine in Washington, D.C. He just might have a chance in hell of ending the madness - if only the government's most experienced immunological researcher hadn't become infected.

Review:
"A thrill ride in novel form, The Devil's Pitchfork is hands down one of the most gripping novels you'll read this year."

About the Author:
Mark Terry (Michigan) is a full-time writer and editor. The author of a collection of mystery novellas and a crime novel, he currently reviews books for The Oakland Press. Terry also has a degree in microbiology and experience with infectious disease research and genetics.

Not free at Amazon UK, but it sounds like a good read, so I may just buy it .

-It's no longer free in the US either, must have been one of those one day or less freebies. Plus, I found and posted it later in the evening to begin with.

Appears to be lendable - also, in the US, it's $2.99 or Prime KLL eligible.

There are two editions tho - the other is $10 (but still lendable).

So on the topic of lending, is there an official policy here at MR? I did manage to pick it up @ Amazon US, and would happily lend it to someone here who missed out. Or are we supposed to go through one of the lending sites? I am a member @ lendle.me...

I'm not sure there is any official policy, so long as it is legally lendable (probably best arranged via PM).

I've seen other lending requests and offers here and there. The person borrowing has to be ready to read it, since it is a limited time lend. The person loaning it out only gets to do so once/book, of course.
