Understanding international warranties/support for US bought Kindle vs. Nook

With the Kindle I guess the situation is that if you buy it in the US, needs repair (or in fact, replacement) in Neverland, you send it back to the US on your expense and they send you the replacement on their expense. Is that correct?

What if you bought a Kindle in the US and traveling/residing in another country where Amazon is present, such as the UK or Germany? Can you send the Kindle to them, too?

What is the situation with the Nook?

The Nook is only supported in the country you bought it in(USA or UK). You will have to pay for shipping to the US/UK and will have to supply an US/UK address to return it. They will not ship one outside the US/UK.
That is the risk you take when you buy a Nook for use outside the US/UK.
