Post Orwell, George: Animal Farm: A Fairy Story. PDF (9x12cm) v1 14 Dec 2008

George Orwell (real name Eric Arthur Blair, 1903-1950) was an English writer and journalist. His work is marked by a profound consciousness of social injustice, an intense dislike of totalitarianism, and a passion for clarity in language.

"Animal Farm: A Fairy Story" is one of the key works (together with "1984") by Orwell. It is a fable, a satire, an allegory about how the high ideals of the Russian Revolution were degraded into totalitaranism. Orwell himself had communist convictions, so this is not a work against communism, on the contrary, it tries to dissociate totalitaranism from communism.

I created the PDF from the Project Gutenberg Australia text, with pdflatex, and I added two prefaces (the one Orwell proposed for the original edition, plus a preface for the Ukrainian translation). The book is nicely formatted and typeset, with table of contents, etc. It's also proofread. It has minimal margins, and 9pt font size ("-ss" stands for small screen), it may be too small for some people, but the source files are available on request if someone wants to try different settings.

I also added a "chapterbar" to the top of every page. It has two bars marking the progress on the whole book and on the current chapter, which I hope are unobtrusive and helpful enough.

Any kind of feedback is welcome.

Nicely done, Jellby!

I will admit that the font is a bit too small for my tastes, but it is certainly reasonable. All in all a very attractive edition!

Thank you!
