you all seem to have it wrong...Apple has no "morals", corporations are amoral entities. They do, however, exist as entities who's sole purpose is to enrich the shareholders ONLY. So, obviously they are pandering to some special interest group that owns enough shares to cause a fuss, if you want background research the newest PETA tactics of buying corporate stocks in sufficent amounts to present their agenda at shareholder meetings (PETA is not the point here but it's going to become a trend on how business operates for the next generation), or maybe it's just Jobs has become posessed by the spirit of whoever he bought his liver or kideny or whatever organ system was failing and is over compensating...aPplE is finally a true "PC" corporation...congrats on a "Job" well done.

@mores: 1.) Heinleins "stranger in a strange world" (de: Fremder in einer fremden Welt) is a book i hearthily recommend to you. 2.) as far as the paintings you showed as examples well at least we both agree that nudity shouldn't be presented but I for myself would like to add: "in such a lousy way" (I assure you, the nudity was the third thing that i actually observed in them. the first two were scetchynass and an extremeley ill choice of colors.) but it's not an argument against nudity as such. I could show you a nice heap of contemporary photography that doesn't show such crap , but instead shows nudity, and its natural beauty framed with the evident "being comfortable with herself" of the model. I won't do since it'd most likely cost me this account but instead of this I'll also go the "hey it's art" way: http://www.renoiruncovered.com/renoi...large-bathers/ http://www.renoiruncovered.com/paint...ith-long-hair/ http://www.renoiruncovered.com/renoi...h-blonde-hair/ http://www.renoiruncovered.com/renoi...her-on-a-rock/ http://www.renoiruncovered.com/renoi...eeping-bather/ |

I just like to watch the Starship Troopers movie, couldn't continue reading the Novel after a few pages ... somehow it never caught me. Will give the one you mentioned a try.
Renoir's pictures are pleasing to the eye. The one I showed just give you eye cancer |

There will be silly consequences, but overall I applaud Apple's stand against pornography.

I'd suggest you stick with the Starship Troopers book. It's much deeper than the movie. Don't get me wrong, I think the movie (first one only) is good in its own Flash Gordon-esque way, but the book is fantastic.

Could you define "Flash Gordon-esque"?
Yes, I should give it another try, since my reading habits have changed a bit since I joined MR. |

What I mean by the Flash Gordon comparison is that the movie offers a very romanticised view of the conflict and the characters portrayed by the book. The war itself is pulled forward out of the background of the plot and the whole movie is about the war events. The book is mainly concerned with the characters and how the war affects them. |

And Apple could easily restrict adult content to adults by simply providing parental controls on their products (for example the parental controls in Windows that can be used to prevent games from being played on a system depending on their rating). And of course Apple is also banning applications that provide useful functionality to their customers, such as Flash and Google Voice because they want to restrict competitors from taking their potential income. This is totally contrary to the idea of technology. |

Steve Jobs is known for being a very controlling person. He is arrogant beyond belief (if you believe all that is written about him), and truly believes that users should be using his products the way he intends. |
