When Is There Going To Be A New Book Designer Update?
We are Well over due a Book Designer Update, what with all the problems with Vista and errors and lack of picture support.
Isn't it time for a New Vista Book Designer Version? It's such a superb program that takes alot of effort out of editing and converting a document. But it's time for a vista version, the last update was in July and alot of people have either bought a new pc or laptop or they have upgraded to Vista from XP by now. It's time for a new BD version Vista & Sony Reader ready or a serious update that solves all these problems. Its easy to tinker with your own BD Program but the way you get it sorted doesn't seem to help everyone which means thats everyones got 1 OR 2 different dated updates running there BD. So theres no universal way to help solve problems when they come up, and this sony reader problem keeps coming up no matter how many threads there are explaining a way to fix it. The only way to proper sort it is to have an update that can be applied to a clean bd 4.0 install, that sorts the problems everyone seems to be having with Bd and vista This happened on the last update, most people new to the program just installed the 4.0 msi and then the newest update & what happened was people running bd like this could not get the sony button to work or they would get an error messege this is because the newest update was missing some of the files that were in the earlier updates. It's Time For Book Designer 6.0 Vista |

You'll have to ask vvv, the author. No point in asking anyone else!
You are correct; the current version of BD is not Vista compliant in any way at all. It can be "persuaded" to work under Vista, but it's a painful process. BD breaks a lot of "rules" that Vista-compatible programs mustn't; it is rather badly in need of a re-write to make it Vista-compatible. |

Also vvv has stated that one of the goals of a future release (he did not promise it for the next release) was to update the Mobipocket output as he said he was one+ release level behind in his support of that format. With the addition of Mobipocket support for the iLiad, Cybook Gen3, and (we think) the future (if ever) Amazon Kindle; Mobipocket is emerging as a mandatory format.
