Samsung Electronics improves 14.3-inch electronic paper

Article from KOIS:

Korea’s Samsung Electronics Co. said Wednesday (Aug. 29) it has improved the resolution of its 14.3-inch electronic paper, a flexible display with paper-like qualities.

Samsung Electronics increased by two and a half-fold the resolution of the 14.3-inch black-and-white flexible display, which was developed last year, the company said.

The A4 paper-size new product is more readable than conventional ones because of its increased resolution. It also has improved durability, Samsung Electronics added.

Samsung Electronics said it can produce the new e-paper using existing TFT-Liquid Crystal Display panel production lines without investing in new facilities.

This is pretty neat, considering the size and flexibility of the screen. If Samsung had an a reader out right now, I'd probably buy it over the Sony. I've never had issues with any Samsung device.

Samsung has a bad reputation with me as far as their batteries go. I've seen three different Samsung cell phones have crappy batteries. That's not a good way to go for a mobile device that relies on the battery to work.
