I am in the market for an android tablet and if Apple are going after Samsung then I am thinking that the galaxy must be worth a look.
Did Apple not try to copyright the word "pod" recently? Seems they are not afraid of litigation. |

Aren't they doing the same thing against HTC as well? Except in that case its about smartphone technology. I see it as a sign of a company that knows its going to lose a significant amount of market share, and instead of being innovative they litigate.
Its turning into a repeat of the early 90's when Apples closed Ecosystem almost killed the company out right. Arigato, Nick Davis |

[QUOTE=hakim;1499488]Apple must be quite scared of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 & 8.9 tablets plus Galaxy s2 phone to start filing law suits against Samsung.
/QUOTE] So being scared is what drives lawsuits? So Motorola is quite scared of Apple? Microsoft is quite scared of Barnes and Noble? Nokia is quite scared of Apple? Apple is quite scared of not just Samsung, but Motorola and Nokia? Insanity. http://www.techdirt.com/blog/wireles...-patents.shtml |

Err... take a look at patent law suits going on at the moment... everybody is doing it to "protect" their rights/positions... for starters Microsoft has suits going against Android but as it isn't Apple I suppose that's OK, and some other small company has suits against nearly every tech company and... mostly they end up with an out-of-court settlement and swaps of the rights to use each others patents plus vast profits for lawyers... now there's a real target...
and +1 to kjk for putting the point so beautifully... even though I reckon there's a lot of links missing, but then you wouldn't see the diagram for lines and arrows... Last edited by elcreative; 04-19-2011 at 09:59 AM. |

Things have become laughable. From:
http://www.pcauthority.com.au/News/2...bigpond.net.au is "...the Samsung devices too closely mimic the rounded corners of Apple's devices..." For goodness' sake! Apple seems to think it has a patent on radii of curvature! I'll bet the screens are virtually the same flatness as well! Cheers, |

And Apple claiming to be the first with a particular UI. I am wondering if Apple really want to go after the company that make 80% of the hardware for them. |

The apple devices are made up of components mostly sourced from Samsung... The next iThingy will be will be an empty plastic case.

What has a lawsuit or two got to do with doing business... Microsoft and Apple have spent half the last 30 odd years suing and counter-suing and it's never stopped MS selling Office etc... for Apple. Most suits are simply a way for lawyers to make money and end in a settlement where everybody concerned swaps licensing rights on their respective patents... As I said previously, good business for lawyers but not designed to interfere with inter-company business... more insanity...
