Angry No Folders?!?!

I just read through the users guide. There is no mention of folder support -- other than the basic audio/book/subscription folders.

Why do these folks give us storage for 1,500 books and expect us to page through them one at a time?

Although, they do support a book feature that would let you 'find' books that match a given criteria in either meta-data or the book content. However, I am skeptical regarding the search speed. From the documentation, it does not appear that you can tell it to only search the meta-data.

What makes this even worse is the lack of expandable memory, so you can't even swap out SD cards for different books.

I couldn't resist. I just pre-Ordered King's "UR" Kindle story.

I'm so easily manipulated.

If you have your library displayed by author or title, you can jump to a first letter with the keyboard. It helps some. Otherwise you can use the search, and -- unless this has changed -- there is no way to limit the search only to metadata.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware of that (Cybook owner, not Kindle). That does help a bit. Although its not what I am really want (my criticism is for Amazon -- I hope someone is listening -- I do appreciate you sharing the tip).

Same screen. Different controller. Like replacing the video card in your PC but keeping the same monitor.

I've gotta think that it means what he has said perviously... that 10% of the sales of books that have a Kindle version are kindle book sales.

Or, could be that 10% of ALL book sales are Kindle books.

But, there is no way that Kindle units are 10% of Amazon sales. That's impossible.

Nope... you can't read Kindle books on your PC. So, it is to sync last page read from device to device. I assume this also has to do with the previosuly announced support for cell phones... of which nothing was mentioned at this event [thus far].

I think 2gig is a good thing. Adding in an SD card will use even more battery life.

Well, if they had kept the replaceable battery, that wouldn't be an issue, now would it?

I have a 4GB card, and have had no, none, zero nada, battery issues.

Its not important what you or Jeff Bezos thinks. Whats important is that people are allowed to make their own choices.

And they've just taken another one away. BAH!
