Sharing Books back and forth between multiple devices

I currently work at a girls home where reading books is part of their recovery but only certain books are approved for certain times. We are looking into a system where we could have a main data base of books and add them and remove them from about 10 different devices quite frequently. Ideally each device would have no more than a few books on it at any given time.

It seems as if Calibre is set up for such a system, is this correct? Would it matter what the devices were (Kindle, Ipad, etc)?

Thank you so much!

calibre is device-agnostic.

You may want to look into [GUI Plugin] Reading List which can maintain per-device booklists and update the device to add and remove books.

Thank you so much, so I would purchase Calibre first and then this and that would allow me to have one main device that sends books out to the other devices? Or would a password be required in order to get books on each device? I would just need to make sure that the users could only use the books I gave them and nothing more

Calibre is free!

However Calibre has no concept of user or device management so I am not sure it will meet your needs. Calibre is really intended for personal/family use where access to the library is not regulated.

What ereader device are you using? Kindles generally have a limit of 6 devices that the book can be downloaded to simultaneously. Probably other ereaders have similar restrictions, as it is a publisher thing.

Presumably all the devices would be registered to the same account.
