Hollywood actors using ereaders for scripts
Saw this in an Esquire interview with Woody Harrelson:
ESQ: You like the Kindle? WH: Oh, man! I love it! They send my scripts to it. I read books on it. My office can send my schedule to it. So any time I want to see it, booooom — there it is. Toronto, New York... Read more: http://www.esquire.com/features/the-...#ixzz0UVd56S8l |

There was a discussion awhile ago how Hollywood types are using ereaders for scripts, usually Kindles. Apparently the scripts are very heavy, especially if you need to carry a bunch with you.

That's a pretty logical move I guess. If the Kindle had more collaborative options (sharing notes with other users like google docs can) it could really open it up to all kinds of new uses. Placing notes and feedback in scripts using wirelessly connected collaborative devices would be a great use.

Yes, scripts are literally manuscripts, bound 8.5 x 11" paper, and they are quite bulky and a pain to carry around. Ereaders are perfect for scripts, as long as a decent job is done on the formatting.

These would only be scripts for reading not to work from. On the shoot day, the actors will work from "sides" which are script pages that are half to a quarter size of an 8 1/2 by 11 in page and only contain the script pages to be covered for that day. The sides can also be scribbled on for script changes made on the fly. The master script will have pages that change colors when changes are made to it and those colors wouldn't show on any of the current e-ink readers.
