Is this the version where the kids act like they belong in Lolita? (To match the new cover, you know.)

I have no idea. Of course odd things do happen at times. I remember buying a DVD some time back and the computer read out at the store asked if I was over 17. That in itself isn't odd, but I was purchasing a copy of "The Muppet Movie." Sometimes I think the glitches in computers are there because people have a few glitches in their thinking. i.e. the new cover for Charlie and the Chocolate factory.

Back in the early days of vhs, my mom rented Cinderella for my little sister. Put it in and turned out it was porn. I'm not sure how this was not obvious from the cover, but those were innocent days.

Interesting details about the book's various iterations, analysis, reactions, and deleted and changed content, as well as links to the full text of two missing chapters - "Spotty Powder" and "Fudge Mountain" - are posted at Wikipedia>>Charlie and the Chocolate Factory>>Lost Chapters.
Another interesting read is Symon, Evan V. (January 14, 2013). "10 Deleted Chapters that Transformed Famous Books" . listverse.com. Last edited by Froide; 09-14-2014 at 10:42 AM. Reason: added another interesting read |

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory is a book that I read when my childhood had just faded but I could still enjoy it. The new cover is horrible. I've read the book over and over before the days when I didn't have the leisure of choice that I do now, and if I made a list of best 100 books I've read, it would maybe sneak in.
