Apple iTunes Mobile 1.0 arriving in July '05

Remember two weeks ago we reported that iTunes Mobile 1.0, the first version of iTunes for mobile devices, is on track for release by June 2005. Gizmodo has now Motorola's confirmation that iTunes Mobile will be released in fact one month later, in July 2005:

Quote:
The correct images of the iTunes screens are still under development and are not final nor approved by either Apple or Motorola. We would expect them to be available mid July when the product launches.

Thank you in advance for removing these images from your site.

Kind regards,

Motorola Collective
Interestingly, the images are still present on Gizmodo site

I'm still not in tune with this technology. Do you listen to the music while holding the phone to your head, or do you listen through the hands-free earpiece? And people complain about the stock iPod earbuds, just wait until they expect CD-quality music from that.

Did they even determine if users can just transfer music from their computers to the phone, or are cellular phone providers going to cripple the phone to only buy songs over the network at inflated prices (for the convenience, you know)? If they have to buy songs for download, does the $2-3 cover the data transfer charges, or are those extra goodies for the monthly phone bill?

I believe in some convergence, but there are some things that a telephone just cannot do. I think that I'm in the minority among tech. futurists, however?
