Just wondering, do all new platforms, rumored or not, get this kind of treatment when they first come out, or is this reserved for Apple?

I've noticed moderators are pretty good about keeping things open-minded and fair handed about how companies here are treated, as in discouraging the trolling/denigrating of Amazon, B&N, etc.. -is Apple somehow not on this list?

The rediculously overblown Apple tablet rumors go back 9 plus years. It crossed over into the theater of the absurd long ago.

But if my posts bother you, I can move them elsewhere.

I've just noticed that when people make derogatory comments about other platforms in other threads, a mod usually steps in. Mocking "aPple" seems to be fair game. Just wondering what the standard is.

Nobody noticed the Apocalypse arrive. The popular answer for the 'behaviour' at the time was an imminent release for the often rumored Apple Tablet.

We try to be fair all around... but frankly, mocking a certain device really isn't a problem with our rules. Mocking the people that use them... well that's a different story.

Letting HarperCollins set the price isn't going to win them any customers. They'll have to do the same thing that Amazon did to iTunes. Sell at the same price and get rid of DRM.

I also don't think adding "multimedia features" to eBooks like iTunes LPs is going to be a successful selling point...esp. if they expect to charge a premium for that type of content. But, I never watch any of the added features of DVDs either, so maybe I'm not the target audience anyways :P
