There are some US web sites that allows you to set up a fake address so you can make one consignment to ship from the US to other countries. I wonder if something similar exists in the UK?

It is probably not the vendor, but the supplier of the good that limits their shipping. Actually that is in violation of EU rules but that is too much of a hassle to deal with, simpler to use a consignment. Happens fairly often on Amazon when you want the latest in electronics.
