New Kobo Website ?

Did I miss an announcement from Kobo? Take a look at http://read.kobo.com/

I'm guessing this is the html5 alternative to buying through Apple/Amazon (and paying them off the top) for apps/mobile devices. Just a guess.

That would be my guess also.. Though in my browser it doesn't seem to be working quite right.. Using Google Chrome..

I'm on Chrome and nothing seems wrong, the internet here is slow so the page takes a lot longer to load then the regular website.

What I'm really hoping is that Kobo will set up an advanced search method on their main website. I love you, Kobo, but your current search leaves a lot to be desired.

Hmm.. Maybe that's the problem.. It seems I have to refresh each time I press some onscreen button for it to register with the webapp.

I got in to the site fine but then got a message asking if I wanted to let Kobo use 50mb on my iPad. I cancelled that, the next screen said it wanted to store books on my iPad. I already have my Library stored (apart from the 2 books Kobo have 'lost') so I haven't gone any further.
I tried to attach a screen shot but I can't ''choose file'' from an iPad.

404 error.

The website is sortof working, as it sends you to the about subpage, which gives you the 404 error.

Well heck, I like this "cloud reader" better than amazon's cloud reader. Not bad for when I want to read on my lap top.

404 error AND Firefox is warning me that it wants to store information on my computer for offline use - screw that.

It is not yet announced--so probably not ready for use. Storing for off-line use particularly for a device that is mobile could be seen as a good thing if you want to actually use some aspect of it when you do not have a connection, right?

I tried storing a book I was reading on my laptop and went offline. Worked like a charm.
