You need to look for a comic book reader that runs on ARM processors. Your smartq v7 has an ARM processor. You tried installing a program intended for the x86 architecture. cbrPager is a good comic book reader for ARM. I use it on my N900.

I have a WinCE completely english version of MangaMeeya Comic Reader you can download. You can download it here: http://rapidshare.com/files/281610555/MMCE_July20.zip

To install it, just create a folder on your device and unzip the files to that folder (or unzip the files on your PC and then copy the files to that folder on your device).

It is my pleasure. That is a seriously good comic book reader. I love it myself.

I thought you were running linux

On another note, I'm seriously considering this device as a comic reader gift option.

I stand to be corrected (unless I'm paying for it ) but I reckon the Q7 handles comics pretty well. The V7 may be overkill if comics are your main priority.

Just a thought

I was actually running linux but I couldn't get any other device to work so when the option for Windows CE came and work I wasn't really that fussed anymore. If I find a linux one down the track that works fine then I'll use that but for now I'm really happy with MMCE. Also like previous comment if you just getting as a comic reader gift you can save some cash by just getting the standard Q7 but of course all up to you.

Thanks

I figured out that my repository listing isn't correct so I updated it with this

deb http://repository.handhelds.org/hasty-armv6el-vfp/ hasty main universe restricted multiverse
deb-src http://repository.handhelds.org/hasty-armv6el-vfp/ hasty main universe restricted multiverse
deb-src http://repository.handhelds.org/hasty-source/ hasty main universe restricted multiverse
deb-src http://repository.handhelds.org/ubuntu/ hardy main universe restricted multiverse

So I then ran the following command lines in evilvte and get these results

ran-> sudo apt-get install comix
Got-> Coundn't find pacakge comix

ran-> sudo apt-get install mirage
Got-> Coundn't find pacakge comix

So then I tried a different repository

deb http://ports.ubuntu.com jaunty main universe restricted multiverse

Any help?

Also is Hasty, Jaunty and Karmic Kola ubuntu release names?
If so does that mean I need to find a repository for Kola apps?

What ver of firmware are you running?
Hasty, Jaunty and Karmic are ubuntu release names, Karmic being the latest stable version.
