Worked like a dream for me, thank you! Alf is definitely an e-reader's (as in a reader of e-books ) best friend; I don't go anywhere near Reader for PC anymore . In a matter of seconds I just added the two latest Trek books to my ever growing To Be Read queue!

May I suggest a change of name for this thread: "Significant update to Apprentice Alf's Calibre Plug-ins"?
I use v. 5.2 desktop drop and drag tools because I'm a control freak and like fewer layers between me and my code. There's been no change in these tools so no need to alarm non-Calibre tool wielders with the original headline. |

The underlying code of the drag & drop tools has seen several updates since 5.2. Mainly for Topaz books, I think, but I always prefer to run the latest one.

6.0.1 fixes a problem that the last few versions of the drag n drop had when processing more than four files in one drop too.

I have uploaded a beta/final candidate for an update to the tools to 6.0.2. The download link is in a comment at my blog.
I would appreciate reports (at my blog or by email to me) on the efficacy of the tools (especially from people running Linux/wine), but also comments on the ReadMes and other documentation. Do bear in mind that details comments on my tools aren't permitted here at Mobileread. |

Many thanks for the update. Your tools allow for more choice and the freedom to port purchased books to preferred reader devices. |
