Oh I understand. I guess if I absolutely want thumbnails I just have to convert cbz to epubs or pdfs.
So it's not just me, okay, I'll give it a try! |

IMHO Every native speaker missing his own language there should give it a try and add it. The file in question is tidy and very comfortable to work with. Just grab a text editor capable of saving UTF-8 and Unix style linefeeds (under Linux that should be pretty much everything, under Win I use Notepad2) and hack on |

Pocketbook 626
Hi,
has anyone here successfully installed and run it for the Pocketbook 626 with the newest firmware? I redid every step with an eye for the detail, but it wont work. |

It's possible that the new firmware changed more dynamic libraries. If you install pbterm or utelnetd, you can try to run pbimageviewer.app from the command line, and then see what the error messages are when it fails to run.

Is there any video available?
Would you make a video showing how pbimageviewer works? It would be interesting to compare the results of colour and b&w images and even to help decide if it is interesting to buy a pocketbook device.. By the way, it is a pity that the 9.7in models are no longer available. Last edited by Sergio Nova; 10-03-2015 at 08:53 PM. |

I've never made a video and uploaded it anywhere, so it would probably take a while for me to figure it all out. It will be at least until next week before I have anything to share.

Hello,
First thanks for your very appreciated initiative ! I'm facing 2 issues : I'm able to read cbz correctly, but not cbr.. So if I want to activate logs to help to troubleshoot, I have a "can't create directory" error when I exit the configuration menu I did copy 626.cfg in /share/pbiv. I own a PB 626; Sorry If this has already be pointed out, the search wizard didnt help me out. Many thanks ! Last edited by Melgo; 11-22-2015 at 04:41 PM. |

I vaguely recall seeing this problem before. Try disabling the "Check image files when opening RAR/CBR archive" option in the configuration. Some CBR files tend to have a problem with this option.
As far as logging goes, do you see the "pbiv.log" file in your chosen destination? It will be in the root directory of either the internal memory or the SD card as seen via USB, depending on which was chosen in the configuration menu? |

Hi Rkomar,
Thanks for your fast answer. This option was already disabled. The log file was created, despite the can't create directory message... But no error in it :/ I clic on the book, then nothing happens. Could that be a UTF8 error ? file = /mnt/ext1/system/state//Downloads/Hajime No Ippo T100 - Round 0966 a 0976 (175p).cbr.af0 ModifyImage: depth = 8, bytes = 1 size = 4, thresh = 2 l = 0, r = 0, t = 0, b = 0 numpages = 175 size = 4, thresh = 2 l = 0, r = 0, t = 0, b = 0 Width: 610, height: 905, depth: 8, scale: 1.05 x: 0, y: 0, x2: 757, y2: 1023 Index: 0, size: 175, file: /tmp/Hajime No Ippo T100 - Round 0966 … 0976 (175p)/Hajime No Ippo T100 001.jpg Current is NULL! It looks like it is behaving normally up until the point that it stops. All I can think of is that the first image is corrupted and causing the program to crash. Can you unpack the CBR file on your desktop and test the first two images there? It would be good to know first that there is nothing wrong with the archive file.

I have only bad news. I updated my Inkpad to the latest beta firmware (version 5.11), and it looks like the version of pbimageviewer.app that I built using the latest version of the SDK is no longer compatible with the newest firmware versions. Until PocketBook updates their SDK, I don't think there is anything I can do to fix the problem. Sorry.
If you _really_ want to use the application, all I can suggest is to install an older version of the firmware on the device. It seems to work fine with firmware version 5.4 on my Inkpad. However, I understand if you're not willing to do that. |

thanks rkomar.
I don't mind going back to a previous firmware. However there is no firmware between 5.5 and 4.4... I tried installing 4.4 but now the touchscreen doesn't work anymore and the update process neither arg ! |

The SDK builds for 5.5, so try installing that rather than 4.4.

5.5 was fine, but your program wasn't working, so I tried a older version.
