I learned from Alex that blogs can't be free and must be at least 99 cents when I asked about the MobileRead blog in the Kindle store (maybe it's to cover Whispernet usage).

Windwalker picked a bad name for his offering in the Kindle store. Did you read the product description? It's a monthy compendium of the free newsletter. The newsletter and its archives remain free on the web. This is just like the blog offerings where you're paying not for the content but for the packaging.
