Folder view
I am decided that my next device will have folder based browsing for books, rather than a database as in the kobo. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Well seeing as there is no such thing as a folder, no device will have such. What you are really looking for is directory view.

The readers by Bookeen, Pocketbook or Onyx can organise books in directories.

Onyx and Pocketbook offer more & better features in their firmware than Bookeen, and their latest models also have a light.

There are no products matching the selection. There is no way to buy an Odyssey from the US from their website. Maybe the Odyssey didn't pass FCC inspection or maybe Bookeen didn't put it up for FCC inspection. |

If you put your books on an SD card, the Nook (Simple Touch/Glow) will display them both ways. "Library view" will show them based on the book metadata (what we normally see with eBook readers) and under "MyFiles" it'll show them in folders.

You can also create folders directly on the Nook Touch. The only difference as opposed to a card is it's limited non reserved space of about 230mb. I use both - using the Nook space for my most read sub genres and authors.

The Nook can do that unrooted? I didn't know that. Quite a cool little device. The OP could do a lot worse than picking up a STR in clearance if he / she can still get one.
And please stop calling folders folders. Jswolf has declared there is no such thing |
