Unhappy PDF looks fine, ePUB formatting is awful (pics included)

Hi everyone! I've been a lurker here on and off for a few months, but I've finally decided to post about a problem I've been having.

I have a PDF that I've been trying to convert to ePUB format but every time I convert it, the formatting goes all haywire (see pictures)

http://imgur.com/a/PyGCa

How did the formatting get so messed up? What can I do to correct this problem when going through the conversion process?

Any help would be appreciated!

Looks like a line unwrapping detection issue. Play with the line-unwrap factor. There is no one-size-fits-all processing for PDF. You need to tweak processing settings on a case by case basis.

The only way to fix to convert PDF > ePub is to A/B compare the ePub to the PDF. That means every character, every space, every punctuation mark, every graphic, every bold, every italic and anything else in the PDF. There is no way to convert a novel length PDF that won't have any error.

yes, it will take time to properly A/B. But that's the only way to do it.

@knet229 - as JSWolf & toddos have indicated PDF to ebook conversions are problematic.

They will never be perfect, any more than a computerised translations will be ever be perfect. And for similar reasons, disparate semantics and syntax in the underlying languages. If the web had been based on Postscript rather than SGML then... life might have been easier

I posted some alternatives for PDF to EPUB conversions towards the end of this thread --->>> https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=212437

After clicking convert, check the little box in heuristic processing (near top) and you might also check the fonts box in look and feel Filter Style information. Shoud be fine then.
