Question Smashwords indent?

Smashwords says in their manual: don´t mix first line indent and block paragraphs.

But surely (?) one can /should have the first line of a chapter, for example, even though one uses first line indent, WITHOUT indent?

Or is that old-school?

First time I've heard of it, but that doesn't mean its wrong. Just another line in the style sheet.

I don't know whether it's old school or not, but it can be done. What I have done by hand is:
- set all paragraphs indented
- remove indentation from paragraphs which are centred
- remove indentation from first line in chapter or after a scene break.

If I am following your question... what they mean is that some people have taken to formatting their books like a blog post. That means no leading indent on the paragraph, and with a blank line in between. Just like this forum post is. This is called "block formatting."

What they do not want you to do is BOTH. Pick either first line of each paragraph indented and no block formatting, or use block format and no indentation.

That make sense?
