Excellent. It looks like we have a result.

Based on the above posts, the winning date is the Saturday (22nd).

(PDurrant: I'm sorry if this doesn't work for you, especially as you took the intiative with the original poll. I hope you'll make it next year.)

To confirm, the meet-up will take place as follows:

Date:
Saturday 22nd August

Time:
2.30 pm

Place:
Meet in the cafe in the Highland Spiegeltent (on your left as you come in through the main entrance).

Should I start a new thread to announce these details? I'll put the time and place in the subject line, to make it easy for people to see (rather than having them wade through this entire discussion before arriving at the date.) Does that sound like a good idea?

Anything else we need to decide?

'Twas kewl, although since the bar staff seemed thoroughly confused by requests for ZCD's the drinking and carousing was not what it might have been.
And there are no pics, because LS didn't want his secret identity compromised.
Same time next year folks (more or less), save a space in your diaries....

Yes, it was very entertaining -- not to mention educational; at least, it was for me. As for the lack of carousing ... well, that's not really something we do in Edinburgh.

But, seriously, I was very glad of a chance to meet other MR-ers, and to pick their brains and hear their opinions. I hope we'll do it again next year.

i'm glad to know you had a good time ! (although i'm SHOCKED to discover there was so little carousing. shocked, i tell you !

). as for LS refusing to reveal his hidden identity, well, i would be very hypocritical if i complained (since i refuse that as well) but that's never stopped me before.

so next year i hope there will be photos !!

tch. lazyscot, if you were really serious about remaining anomalous (ar ar ar) you'd know that the best plan is to TAKE THE PHOTOS YOURSELF !!! that's what i do. works every time.

(although now i wish i could see pixelated lazyscot !)
