PRS-505 Sony prs 505 updates

I have had my Sony prs 505 for over 18 months now and was wondering are there any updates available for it. I have just bought a Kindle and I am letting my daughter have my Sony, so just wanted to update it for her if there are any that is

Nothing in the way of firmware updates from Sony for the beloved 505. Might be some unofficial updates, but I have never ventured into those alternatives.

No. The PRS-505 is the handsome bastard that Sony threw out of the house and under the bus.

However, there is some "alternative software" out there (check the Sony forums here) that add some nice touches to it. Unfortunately, epub full justification isn't one of them.

Yep, remember to install the unofficial PRS+. It adds some nice features.

Thanks for that bonaldo 2000, I was just looking at that on one of the threads but wasn't sure if was for the 505 was about to ask any idea where I will find the link to the download

Basically, you need to do this:

1. unpack PRS+ installer zip (available in download section) to your SD or MS card (using empty card is recommended) or to the Internal Memory of the reader.

2. If you put it into external card, enable SD/MS card scanning in PRS+ if you've previously disabled it.

3. Follow instructions on the screen.
