Well Cinemix has gone to h*ll....filled with commercials now....just like every other over the air radio and tv station....impossible to write by now IMO.

Hi guys, I just spotted this interesting thread.
Over the last six months I have discovered "Calm Radio" radio stations and play them on my computer radio app "Radium" when I write. They have a range of stations such as Solo Piano, Solo Guitar, and dozens more. I keep it on low volume, just enough to tinkle in the background. They have voice adverts every 5 or 10 minutes but they don't annoy. . . |

I need to have music, but it must be instrumental (voices distract). Often it's Philip Glass minimalism: those great, repetitive soaring loops of music somehow get me in the right mood to keep tapping the keyboard. Otherwise Indian sitar and tabla stuff, Arab oud...
